UPDATE - video sample of night vision added later in this thread

UPDATE - video sample added later in this thread

OK - I'm a gadget hound and I admit it.  If I already have TWO micro camcorders, why do I need a third?  I don't need it, but I wanted it - and at $21.00 why not splurge?  My new camcorder is really small - about half the size of my CUBE unit.

On the right is my new GENLED 1080P Mini Cute Camera.  You N scale guys may find it handy as it will work on your equipment.  I'll post up some video as soon as I have a chance to check it out.

NOTE:  It does NOT come with a micro SD card - but I already have several.

Rick, your going to be in big trouble if these cameras don't work out  When I first looked on Amazon, there were 17 left, now there are 11! Amazon should give you a commission! LOL

Video sample from the GENLED 1080P camcoarder

Here's an unedited sample of from the camera that was mounted on a flatcar and pushed around my messy layout:

Noticed it auto-adjusts for exposure

Noticed the camera auto-adjusts for exposure a lot - any way to turn that off? Probably not on a $20 camera I bet, unless it has a wifi setting. The exposure auto-adjust is kind of annoying, but then I guess you get what you pay for, aye?

Hey, It looks so much better

than anything else I've tried, I'll put up with it. For the price it looks like a really good deal. I'm looking forward to testing it out on my layout. It is so much smaller than the Poliroid Cube I think it will work in  N Scale.

Top job Rick

Well rick you have done it again.

The video camera works really well, Saw the Junk yard no dog sticking his head out through a hole in the fence.

Nice 3 Silos at the start you even have them decal on them .

I had my head phones on to hear you making sound noises as you pushed it around the layout???

Joe, I don't think so

I believe that the auto exposure is non-adjustable.  For my productions I could hide the different exposures using cuts and edits.

Same here

Have one on the way.   As for the quality? Time will tell.   Ricks video looks good even with the autoexposure.

It says night vision, what can it see in the dark? Can you demo that?

I have to agree with Michael

A cab ride on his N Scale layout would have been a real treat!

Michael - no worries!

Perhaps you can try it out on your upcoming N scale as the chances are good that you might go back to N scale?

Thanks

Thanks. interesting how things look that way. I was a little concerned with the reflection in the distance that looked like another train coming at me. It looks like a cold snow covered night, better than many that look green with the light.

Is the light visible to the eye in the dark?

DaveS - night vision

Dave,

Just like all of the night vision IRs that I've seen for camera systems the ones on this camera can be seen in the dark, but are dim.
