Just great!

Very nice models.

How did you do the fuselages? Did you do them from scratch?

Since years I keep my eyes open, looking here and there for an airplane model in 1:87 scale.

Boeing Fuselages

I picked up the Boeing fuselages on e-bay they are actually scale 1/100 they seem to do the job nicely, I have never seen 1/87 ones at all.

Thanks

I think I will look for fuselages in 1/100 scale.

More than 500 $ for a flat car and a load is simply too much...

...and building my own is more fun

Thanks a lot for the hints.

I agree...

...$500 is a bit exorbitant! They are extremely good though but I wouldn't like to pay to outfit a whole train!

And the fuselages. . .

. . . contrary to the 1:87.1 manufacturer's description, don't go to the Boeing plant in Everett, Wash. Rather, they go to the Boeing plant in Renton, Wash., and some of that journey is via street running through downtown Renton!
The latter half of the video was taken adjacent to the Main Avenue crossing case in Renton. Houser Way runs east-west. A red flag on the end of the train is apparently not required on Other Than Main Track. One day when I was working at the Renton Junction control point bungalow, where the Renton Industrial Lead (née the Woodinville Sub) begins, the Rocket crew borrowed a red flag from me. They'd forgotten to stick one on the end of the last car for the outbound trip from Balmer Yard, realized their mistake, and didn't want to arrive back at Balmer via the CTC main line not dressed for the occasion!
