I need several squared off Paducah sand domes for my IC steam locomotives.  I purchased copies of the original drawings from the IC Historical Society.  Is there a company that can take those drawings and put them into the right format for 3d printing?

I've thought about making molds from the domes on my brass locos and casting what I need in resin, but I think 3d printing might be the better option.

Have you checked out shapeways.com ? There are guy that advertise doing that type of work. I have never tried them though so I have no idea if it is cost effective or not.

3D Modeling

Hi Jeff,

I could do it for you.  The cost is $20 per hour of modeling time.  If you have scanned, dimensioned drawings, I could probably get it done in a couple of hours.

My e-mail is dmkeenan "at" aol.com

Damin.
