This past weekend I had opportunity to operate some trains on the Kettle Valley Railway  http://kettlevalleymodelrailway.blogspot.ca/ .  It is a really well done model railway with handlaid track, beautifully rendered scenery, smooth operating steam, passenger and freight equipment appropriate for the era and locale, all using time table and train orders to keep the traffic flowing.

This layout will be part of the operating sessions for the Railway Modellers Meet of British Columbia in November, and is in my humble opinion one of the undiscovered gems of model railways in BC.  I'll add more photos in a following post.

Some photos from the operating session

Some photos from the session.  I'll refer anyone interested to the layout's website for information on the schedule and other aspects of this great model railway.

An excellent afternoon running steam on the Kettle Valley.

Wow!

That is spectacular modelling of the late great KVR. And great photography as well! I love the steam roster.

Thank you for sharing!

Scenery Clinic

Of course, he will be doing a clinic on modelling BC Scenery at the Railway Modellers' Meet.  If you're able to make it, you should!

Upper level scenes

Really like how the slope of the scene continues to the bottom of the upper level. Most of the time the fascia takes away from the scenes particularly the upper level scenes near eye level.

Reminiscent of the Canadian Shield model railroad

Marc, What a beautiful railroad. Those long lonely stretches through the mountains without structures, grade crossings or sign of man other than the right of way are hauntingly captivating. Your rendition reminds me of another exquisite Canadian model railroad from decades ago featuring the Canadian Shield. You guys both nailed the prototype and set a benchmark for the rest of us. Thank you.
