Hello, this my first post, I am a novice about trains.  I have a NB Christmas train model 350 and was wondering if it will work if I use brass track instead of the plastic that came with it?  Appreciate any and all feedback!

Does the locomotive . . .

or the tender have metal wheels, and if so, are there wipers or pickups with a connection to the motor? Did the set come with a transformer to convert A/C to low-voltage DC?

If so, you should be able to run on metal rails.

If the engine runs on plastic

If the engine runs on plastic track, is it powered by batteries ?

Can you give us a better description of the engine or an internet link to the description.

The engine in question is BATTERY

I've had one of them before and as I recall it had no issues running on brass track. The locomotive is battery powered and the wheels are plastic. As I recall you can even run it across the kitchen floor, but a train without tracks is a silly thing.

thanks for responding, the train came with a transformer 120V AC 60hz 100W input, out put 10v AC 5000mA.  With the plastic track it derails frequently and I was hoping it would run smoother with brass track.  Ideas?

this model is powered by. Transformer, 20 V AC 60 Hz, 100W, output 10V AC 5000mA.  I am hoping it will run smoother with brass track in lieu of the plastic track that came with it.  Ideas?  Thanks.

thanks for responding.  This train is no longer made by New Bright, the track is plastic and it uses a 120 V AC 60 Hz 100W transformer, output is 10 V AC 5000mA.  It derails frequently and I was wondering if it would run better on brass track, ideas?
