So, I always wanted to mess with Arduinos, and trains.

I bought a Arduino Uno clone on eBay and a MotorShield.

I already uploaded the DCC Base Station and I can connect the Arduino to the JMRI PanelPro. The Using WiThrottle on my IPhone 4s, I can see that the Arduino responds, because theres a green led that blink every time I press a button on the IPhone.

The thing is that the MotorShield that I bought is really small, and I don't know how to connect it.

Can someone give me a hand at this? How do these connect?

The other shileds I know that they can be inserted on the available stockets on the Arduino, but this one...

Thank you in advance!

There are notes on my web

There are notes on my web page that should help - see:

http://trainelectronics.com/DCC_Arduino/JMRI_DCC++_Setup/index.htm

You will also need to add two jumpers to the motor shield - this is described about 1/2 way down on this page:

http://trainelectronics.com/DCC_Arduino/DCC++/

this is in the section titled eBay Motor Shield

Hope that helps!

Thanks.  The motor shield I

Thanks.

The motor shield I have is really different from the one you present there.

Perhaps I should get the correct one.

This only has 600 mA on each connection.

The motor shields that I have

The motor shields that I have been using are quite inexpensive and work well.  Some folks have worked with other versions and documented their experiences here:

Awesome

Good to see someone else experimenting with Arduinos and DCC++. Dave is an awesome resource and has pointed you in all the right directions. I plan to power my new layout with DCC++ and leave my NCE system in the shop for programming.

The same here!

Greeg

That's also my idea: Radio systems are too expensive on this side of the Atlantic so I think that this is a great way of controlling a layout in wireless way.

I need to read more about this subject, but I think I have the wrong shield.

I use a Roco multimaus controller that it is quite limited!

Motor Shield

This is the one I bought. Not from this vendor though.

Waiting

Yes, I like the prices from China but the waiting is painful. Let us know how you make out when it arrives.

Monitor the shipping status

Monitor the shipping status on your orders.. I have had a couple that didn't ship even though they said they did and one that did ship but went to Chile instead of USA!  Other than ones that were shipped really late I haven't had any major problems.  Over the last 2 months or so I have had about 25 packages delivered from China with various bits for DCC++ (including my version of David's throttle that I posted on github and am now extending for RS485 bus to connect to the base station)

We have success!

I received the correct Motor Shield, installed it, made the jumper wires, cut the VIN trace, used  a 18v DC power supply.

Then, I went back to my PC, fired up JMRI panel pro, opened WiThrotlle both on the PC and on my iPhone and Engine Driver in my Samsung Tablet, and I have now  fully operating DCC++ controller for my layout.

It was that easy!

l'll try to do a video of this soon!

Thanks for all the help!
