Hi

You  can use brake fluid for it...a lot of modelers use this for cleaning their models.

Hi.

Thanks for the tip.

The paint came off with the alcohol. Now that frame is dipped as well, so that I can repaintthe model with Maine Central colors.

I need some details for this body, like the dynamic brakes, the horn, bell and a and hatch that I saw in some pictures. Where can I get these? How do I know that they are the correct?

I am going to leave the molded grab irons. I think it's too much for me now, and the molded ones are "good enough"

Thanks for your time.

Progress!

Hi all.

Some progress as been done. I have applied a coat or two of primer:

Then, some Vallejo 71093 Green (as suggested by Joe Fugate, in another thread):loco02.jpg

After some coats of gloss, I started to apply the decals:loco03.jpg

This is how the models is today. I had some issues with the decals, and tried to correct them. I have to do some touch up with yellow paint, and seal teh models with mate varnish.

I haven't found any photo of the Maine Central #561 in green, but I'm not following any particular prototype photo.

I think I have started with a hard model as a first one. I just hope that I can hide some of the decals with some weathering.

Problem is that I can't find a heavily weathered GP7 in Maine central green.

I hope you enjoy.
