3 or 4 years ago I bought the 120 volt negative ion generator from Electronic warehouse.  I had, somewhere on this PC, a detailed article on how to build the 120 volt unit.  Now after two days of looking I can't find it. The article used PVC piping and a plastic tub  for the grass.  The instructions on both the construction of the receptacle and handle and the wiring were very specific and well detailed.  I don't remember the author's name.

Can anyone point me to such an article.  I've seen many on the 12 or 9 volt variety but I'm not interested in building that one.

Thank you,

Herman

Just remembered the author's

Just remembered the author's name, Luke Towan.  I know he has you tube videos but I was looking for a printable article of his static grass applicator.

You can visit his website

You can visit his website here: http://www.bouldercreekrailroad.com/ where he has some written tutorials. I took a quick look and all I could find on the static grass applicator were 2 videos that he has.

Kevin Rowbotham March/April 2010 MRH

Kevin Rowbotham did a great article in the March/April 2010 MRH on how to make three different static grass applicators including a 110 volt one.

Louie & Bill

Is my post visible here?

You both pointed to exactly the same thing I linked to a month ago.  It's okay if you didn't see it, just wondering because it was missed twice...

Dave...

AWK! Sorry about that! you're post is visible, I just missed that it was referencing the same article as Louie's post. I didn't visit your link and with no other context, I assumed you were referencing a BoulderCreek article.

Since Louie hadn't posted an actual link to Kevin's, I posted one.

Be assured, you are not invisible Dave.

No worries

I was wondering is all - it happened with an Arduino post I made a few days ago as well.

Aww Shucks...

Bill, Herman, etal;

I'm humbled by your kind words.

I had a lot of fun authoring that article, my first ever, but I couldn't have done it without the help of others including Joe Fugate and the MRH team.

Since the article was published I've seen many clever designs posted here on the forum.  The most elegant one used a modified flashlight body and was rechargeable, as I recall.  Very cool!

My son and I took the 12V and 120V models to the Thunder Creek MRRC show that year and did an informal 'clinic' on static grass in conjunction with promoting MRH.  We let anyone who wanted to try applying static grass have a go at it and we were very well received by the crowds.  I'd like to do something similar again some day.

Anyway, it just goes to show you that pretty well anyone can write an article for MRH.  Just find a topic people are interested in and take lots of good pictures!

Good luck with your build Herman!

Regards,

~Kevin
