To All: I recently purchased an Intermountain Railway Co DC/DCC powered U18B. I know, Peabody Coal Co. had no U18B's but I love the Baby U Boats. The Peabody Coal Co. entered the E. St. Louis rail scene by purchasing the St. Louis & O'Fallon RR and it's associated coal mines. I schedule Peabody coal trains on the layout. I weathered the unit using Bragdon Weathering Powders. Good effort

Weathering seems a little "random"  but a good effort overall.  (Referring to actual photos can help you there)

Fan of the old U-boats so understand the draw!

Weathering

kustgrovejb: I do not agree. From what I have observed weathering is heaviest on the roof, near the  stack, walkways, louvers. and fuel tanks. I could have applied some on the louvers next to the cab. Suggestions further, please. Yours, E.H.

I'm not trying to speak for

I'm not trying to speak for Joe, but I think he is mainly talking about the blotches of color on the walkways.  If those were smoothed out and the grills by the cab were weathered, it would add just that much more to finish it off.
