Geared

Here's video and pictures of Alberni Pacific Railway's Baldwin 2-8-2T arriving to pick up passengers at a local hotel for a trip to McLean's Mill, a heritage steam operated sawmill.

great pictures

Thanks for these pictures.  I have seen models of tank engines but never pictures of the prototype in action.  It looks a lot more impressive than I expected.  Watching valve gear and side rods on a steam loco is mesmerizing - and it was nice of them to spin the wheels a little although those drivers looked pretty small.  good sound too.

Nice little video but...

Yep"  No.9 certainly is a beauty,A bit of advice though If I may be so bold , Think tripod... unfortunely your camera was jinking  badly , a Tripod would have given you....and us' a nice stable view, also less zooming back and forth ...once you settled down to a mid range distance and let her come to you the picture settled and was much more enjoyable.

First video

Just got back of a two week visit to kidlets.

That was the first video I made with the new camera. Heck, my first video ever and it was a rush to get to the site when I heard the whistle. As it was an unplanned siting for me I left my tripod buried in the basement under the layout. Getting better at the whole process though. Hopefully the next one I post will be much better.

Thanks for the tips.
