Hello, thought that I would introduce myself. I learned about this new site over at Model Trains Weathered from jbaako. I'm 41 from Fort Scott, KS and model the Frisco Railroad in two different eras, the first era is August 1929 and era 2 is 1985 to 1995. Even though the Frisco disappeared in 1980 I decided mine wouldn't be merged with the BN but instead bought the Southern Pacific in 1995 so that the company could fulfill it's namesake (St. Louis & San Fransisco) I have been a Model Railroader since I was about 8 years old and am interested in woodworking and video games, specifically Halo 1,2,3 though I don't have alot of time for games now that it is summer. As soon as I get all of my wifes projects outside finished I can start retro-fitting an out building to house my new railroad, insulation, wiring, sheet rock etc.

Welcome!

Welcome, Frisco ...

I would love to see some of the Model Trains Weathered work featured in Model Railroad Hobbyist! One of the things I would like to see the magazine do is showcase the work of those who are pushing the envelope - and the MTW guys are certainly doing that!

At the National in Anaheim (in a week), we'll make sure and run the video camera in the RPM display room - those guys do great work, too!

At any rate, welcome - your new model railroad project sounds fascinating. Make sure and post some more about it, with pictures if you can!

Thanks Joe

Thanks for the welcome Joe, I am looking forward to the release of your new mag with childlike anticipation. As soon as I get started on my new railroad I will definetly post pictures of all my progress. After looking at your Siskyou Line videos I almost want to get started right now. Unfortunately I have too many irons in the fire currently but hope to finish everything up in a couple of weeks. I have been working on track plans for a couple of months now and hope to finalize very soon. As far as my Frisco lines go I plan to model SE Kansas, mainly the area I live in, I prefer mountain railroading but don't really have the space for that. I admit a very serious weekness for bridges and I love to build them so I will have more than a couple of bridges. I want to use DCC with sound, but that is in the future. I'm sure that jbaako can help out with something from MTW or some of the other great modelers over there. Can't wait to see your RPM video. Have a great time @ the convention.
