Some modeler out there knows where to find this sheet of etched parts. It is for upgrading a RailPower SD90MAC and I think it works for the SD80 as well...  I would like to have a couple of these sets. I found these pictures on a website run by someone named Terry Tsutsumi. I do not have an account on the system, so I have no way to contact him. Supposedly, someone in Germany made this set of parts. I do not know, maybe Plano Model Products or the like has made a set like this?

This will give you an idea of how these parts fit on the RailPower shell and take an okay looking shell to a new level !!!

Thanks for any ideas on where to find these very critical pieces.

Custom, Contact

Dear Kirk,

Terry can be contacted via the Google+ network. Have just reached out, and will let you know if there's any response. From the G+ posting I can confirm the brass etches were custom for Terry, c/o a fellow modeller in Germany. (Maybe time to break out your fave drawing app, an ink-jet printer, and the old-skool PCB etchant kit?)

Happy Modelling,

I built this RPP shell

I built this RPP shell several several years ago using Cannon and OMI parts. The OMI drive has a brass tank and trucks. I used their 52" fans, oil retention tank gage, toilet drain and dynamic brake outlet grill. For the inlets, I used Tichy 40' walkway. The rad.,inlets for the clean air section and walkway safety rail are Cannon. SV stanchions were also used.

Thanks, keep em coming

Thanks, Bobby and Professor.

Bobby, if you had part numbers or instructions, I would greatly appreciate it. I am not a rivet counter, but I do like nice looking stuff. You did a good job on that engine! I hope my SD90 and SD80 can end up looking as good.

Professor, I am not on the Google network. If you know any of these guys, I would love the contact or at least information on how to get some parts. If that doesn't work, I guess a little instruction on photo etched parts would help...

SD 90/80 GRILLS & FAN

Greetings Kirk

This is Terry I have contacted my source on the SD90 etchings I am waiting on an reply from him

do you or anyone else need any information on a parts list ?

I also have several articles on building and detailing UP SD90's and Conrail SD80's some of the articles are

pretty extensive on the detailing it even explains how to modify some parts to make them prototypical to SD90's.

the articles also covers the Railpower shells and the Kato rtr models/I have personally modified my Kato SD80's

with see through 52" fans and also with the etched see through dynamic brake fans Note the grills do not fit the Kato SD90's & 80's

but the dynamic brake fans and the Detail Associates 52" radiator Qfans really make the Katos stand out .

you can contact me at ((  blackbearwarrior1@gmail.com  ))

Hello Terry !!!

It is good to hear from you. Thanks for sharing the pics of your modeling. You make some really nice looking stuff !

Yes, I would love whatever information you have regarding parts lists, etc. for both the SD90 and the SD80. I do not have a specific model in mind. I thought I might paint the SD90 into Indiana Railroad, but I am not sure just yet. The SD80 might be a later model CSX?

Whatever you can share would really help.

i just acquired a couple kato sd90’s and have a interest in doing something along these lines. are these parts still out there in 2021? as this thread looks to be a couple years out of date. sad for me but the closest b&m hobby shop that might have anything like this, is a couple hrs away.
