Model railroading or trying to start WW 3

I found this video interesting. Great animation of the Minuteman launch system. My wife used to work on this project before it was cancelled in the early 1990s. . .

Maybe because I'm a bit older than you.
So? What's your point? Those of us who remember Lionel trains remember seeing missiles launched from trains back in the 1950s. They were toys the and puting MInteman missilles on trains was just a toy even in the 1990s. Sure the government spent lots of money on it but even the government likes to buy toys instead of practical weapons.

Neat animation
Yeah that's pretty good. Any background info on how it works, how it's activated, etc.?
Thanks for sharing the video.
Ah yes...
LGM-118A Peacekeeper (aka MX Missile) Rail basing. Can you ask your wife if they were supposed to be in those tubes or if the tubes were supposed to represent the missiles themselves?

My point is. . .
My point is that it was an interesting use of animation for model railroading. We all find different ways to enjoy the hobby.
If you look at his other videos, he is really into the animation part of the hobby. The rotary coal dumper is quite interesting. . .

Ok, at the risk of going into the gutter, looks the B&O cars are just as excited about running in a train as we are watching them! nudge, nudge, wink, wink, know what I mean,eh? know what I mean?

I don't have anything against animation...
I don't have anything against animation. In fact, I m all for it as it would make any layout a bit more believeable. I only meant to point out that were toys that shot missiles on the rails in the mid to late 1950s. And when Revell released its model of a missile submarine in the early 1960s, you even had that capability in plastic models. Of course, it you had a mother like mine who didn't like such things because "you could take your eye out like you could by playing basket ball in the living room!"
