Hi all-

I'm experimenting with some track weathering techniques and one of the things I'm experimenting with is with washes of enamel paints.  I have been using turpenoid OMS  to thin the paint, but I find that the paint is taking a LONG time to try between each application of the wash.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative method of thinning enamels that speeds up the drying process?  I know it's going to be a longer time than an acrylic regardless, but anything that can cut the time down at all I would be interested to hear.

Also, does anyone have any good advice on cleaning our eyedroppers, syringes, pipettes, etc? I'm going through these things at a ridiculous pace these days.

Thanks.

Try these.....

Scale Coat I thinner will make  most enamels set up much faster.  As with anything try it out first off model or on a practice piece.

As for the others, try getting an tall old jelly jar with a good lid.  Fill it with cheap thinner from Walmart etc ($7-$8 a gallon) and soak them in between uses. I rinse mine out before storing them this way to get most of the paint out.

I hope this helps

Steve
