My Hometown

When I was a little girl, my grandfather would let me work on his layout. Choosing and building kit homes... cleaning track... landscaping, etc. His recent passing has me all sentimental. I would like to begin a layout of my hometown.
I am looking for help with my design. I want to do this in 'N'scale, but I don't know the conversion rate. (miles to inches).
Thanks for your help and advice.

N-Scale conversions
Since N-Scale is 1/160 of the prototype, you would convert real miles to N-Scale mles by dividing them by 160 and then multiplying by twelve to get the number of inches.
Here is example of how this works. I am building a carfloat the is 360 feet long and 52 feet wide. If we divide 360 by 160 and multiply that answer by 12 we get 27 inches. If we have a plan for something in HO Scale, it can be converted to N-Scale by reducing it by 54%.
