The Soo Line Historical & Technical Society's up coming convention is right in my back yard in Hudson WI. The weekend of September 19th I'm looking forward to giving my "era specific" diesel modeling clinic. It's always a pleasure to see your work Bob.  Outstanding modeling and photography!  I love your weathering.

Did you model the 2229B and 720 specifically because of that prototype photo, or did you just happen to have built them, allowing you to recreate that scene?

This post was the first I realized that the Soo Line varied in their painting of the long hood end, and the first I noticed the unit number near the walkway under the radiator.  It's always fun for me to see details like that faithfully modeled.

Thanks Joe. I had the 2229-B and 720. I improved the details and weathering on the 720.

Great photos Bob.  I've always enjoyed the prototypical aspect of your layout, from rolling stock to scene locations.  Wish I lived closer to see it in person.  Good luck with the Convention.
