Mycroft

So, there is a sponser of MRH magazine that runs a small store near me (mostly mail order).  I just called him up and spent some of my ill gotten gains from more writing for MRH, so some of his sponsership money has completed the full circle!  (The train club I am a part of gets a discount too, so I can spend more).

Reminds me of when I was a young man, I used to babysit for a family round the corner.  And he was my barber, so some of that money went round and round too.

And of course, every time I send a package anywhere any more, it goes thru the company i work for, and some of that money finds it's way back into my paycheck.

So, where does your money go round and round?

(BTW: today's expense was for some parts to go towards my next project, which is an pre-approved article for MRH!)

When I pay taxes, I get it right back.  When you pay taxes, you're saying "thank you for your service" in the most meaningful way you could express...

With tongue firmly. . .

. . .in cheek, right Benny?

Because when I pay taxes, what always comes to mind is the doctor's office scene from "

What immediately went through my mind on seeing the title

...was:

Robert owes half to Grenville
Who in turn gave half to Larry
Who adored my instrumentals
And so he gave half to a foreign publisher
She took half the money that was earned in some far distant land
Gave back half to Larry and I end up with half of goodness knows what
Oh can somebody explain why things go on this way...
(The Money-Go-Round by The Kinks)

A bit more sinister, I realize, nor really in the same vein as what was intended...

I've had a couple of situations in the past, though, where I did layout work as a subcontractor, only to end up spending my gains back with the primary contractor to get equipment that I wanted, generally at a nice discount... Worked well for me and for him.
