congrats!

If you set the width in the photo properties to 750px and it will fit fully in the post too

It has recently been revealed

Photos that are resized in Drupal are occasionally dropped from pages. If at all possible reduce the size of your photos with Photoshop or whatever before uploading. You'll get a better conversion too. Optimum width is 720 pixels.

Where do you...

PQE... where do you get the optimum image size as 720??  750px fits perfectly with a nearly even margin on each side, and as I recall, MRH has often suggested 800, which is too wide.

@ Bill

I believe that MRH recommends a width of 720 pixels. 750 will fit but Drupal will do a little downsizing on it. If you watch closely when you upload a photo at 750 px a dialog box will flash up, very briefly, that it has resized the image, if you blink you will miss it. (at least on my computer anyway)

I find that I get a clearer image if I upload it at 720 px originally.

Hmmm!

I was thinking it was 780 pixels wide that was a perfect fit.

If you are using the Firefox browser, the picture need not be uploaded - just copy the picture and then paste in place in your post.

Drupal...

Drupal only resizes images that are uploaded in the file manager, images that are loaded in the upload tab of the image dialog are not resized as far as I know.

upload tab

Bill is correct if you upload using the upload tab - the image is not resized.  The image is resized using the width and height attributes of the img html tag and points at the original full sized file.  The resizing in this case occurs on the client machine's browser.

That would explain it...

I usually use the file manager to upload pics. For some reason I have very spotty success using the upload tab, and, quite frankly, life is to short to spend much time figuring out why... I got models to build!

Tell us about the device you're using to view the forums, and what browser. Also, try more than one browser ... For example on an iPad we've seen Safari do goofy things with the images, but Chrome works great.

Finally, your location will make a difference. Someone in Australia or South Africa may get different behavior than someone in Denver or Milwaukee, for example.

The computer in .....

....question is my work computer which uses Internet Explorer. Not sure what version though. And due to company policy (ie severe cheapness) it can't be changed!!

I just checked on my iPhone 6 and it works there.
