I am using an iPad 2 the os version is 8.3 When I click on a video link the video will not play. I downloaded the embedded landscape version. I am using iBooks and have seen the comments about iBooks my question is there a setting I need to change? David

I've given up on embedded

iPad air, 8.3 and downloaded Goodreader as suggested. No videos.

Now I just save the space and download non embedded and watch the videos via YouTube when I'm in a good internet location which, unfortunately, isn't my home!

Embedded edition only for PCs

The Embedded edition only works on PCs (and Macs if you use Adobe Reader). Sorry, but as far as I know, there are no PDF readers for mobile devices that support embedded media, and Adobe's PDF reader is the worst of the PDF readers for mobile devices, too. Go talk to Adobe if you'd like embedded media to work any better on mobile.

I can, some times

I normally down load a fle with embedded links. In that case I could not play an embedded video on my mini IPad.  So to test further, I chose to read the April issue on line on the same device.  In that case, the video I tried before played without any problems.

I just did a significant upgrade to my home wireless.  Before, I could not read the mag on line on my wireless devices.  I think that is the key here.  Apple streams bigger chunks of data and you have to have the wireless capacity to handle these broadband chunks.

edit- I decided to try again, this time I clicked on the "If you have play back problems link", in the embedded PDF file.   It took me to the same you tube page and the video played as before.  Go figure?

So many trains, so little time,

Larry
