So, if you are like me, you have tons of digital photos of the prototype. But, at the same time, you prefer the physical photos, especially when modeling.

Printing out individual photos is either a pain, or expensive. Then they get lost. Or you have to do an old fashioned photo album that ends up a mess. Or, you didn't print one photo you are after.

So, I came up with the perfect solution. Self publishing with Lulu.

Lulu.com is a website that allows anyone to self publish. That can be anything from printing one copy just for yourself (like my train photos), to getting an ISBN and selling on Amazon.com (which I do for another hobby).

Here is what I do-

1. Edit photos. I generally just resize them (to fit on a 8.5x11 page), at 300 dpi.

2. Arrange your book. I use Microsoft publisher (comes with office), but there are other ways to do it.

3. Export as a .pdf. Publisher has this as a feature. Other ways to do it.

4. Upload to Lulu, and order your book. Actual cost depends on size, paper, etc. But it is comparable to a normal book. I do mine with coil binding. Not really cheaper, but it will lay flat on the work bench.

Hope this helps!

Neat idea!

I might use that for some other purposes.
