Hi all,

I just did a clean Windows 7 install on my wife's laptop last night, and so far, I'm impressed.  But that's not why I'm posting!

I'm using Adobe Reader 9 to read MRH and am being prompted that I need an additional player whenever I come across rich media (360 spin, playing video).   Specifically, the dialog reads:

Quote:

Multimedia Player Finder
The media requires an addtional player.  Please click 'Get Media Plaer' to download the correct media player.  To play the media, you will need to close and restart the application once the player installation is complete.

Get Media Player     Close

When clicking "Get Media Player", I'm directed to an Adobe site (http://www.adobe.com/special/acrobat/nomediaplayer.html) where I'm told:

Quote:

We're sorry, but the third-party media player required to play the selected media file in your Adobe PDF document isn't available for your system. No media player will be downloaded at this time.

I should add that I'm currently reading the Premium Edition of the Q2 Magazine.

Ideas?

I believe you need Macromedia Flash player installed...

Flash and Quicktime

Goto the adobe.com website and download the latest version of the Flash player.

Then goto the apple website and get the latest version of the Quicktime player (you don't need quicktime pro, the pay for it version - the plain version will work just fine)

Regards,

Charlie

Quicktime was the key. Looks

Quicktime was the key.

Looks like Adobe successfully put the blinders on me what with Reader telling me I need more media, then taking me to it's site with the not-so-veiled innuendo that it was going to fix me up!

The joys of finding out what software you rely on, but have forgotten about when you have a clean machine...

Thanks Charlie and atanisoft!
