Inspiration for a Quarry Railroad

Hi everyone: I found this Vulcan Quarry about five miles west of Kankakee, Illinois. I thought it might be some cool inspiration for an industry on your layous.

It is served by the CN (ex IC) and the NS (ex Conrail). They ship a variety of stone sizes in a variety of cars from various loading points.   They also have a huge pit and mountain with bird nest holes for scenery buffs. An ex Seaboard (CSX) MP15T serves as power. A public road runs right through the plant so pictures are easily taken from public property. Google maps aerials show a second locomotive that looks like a chop nose GP9 as on the site. Roger Kujawa

Very nice!

I like how the PRLX  lettering on the MP15T matches the old CSX paint.

Building a layout featuring a "what if" L&PS railway and any other shiny/grimy trains I can get my paws on.
