CMT an MRH Sponsoring Advertiser

A couple days ago I registered with one of our Sponsoring Advertisers "CMT Model Trains". Apparently I put (.com) at the end of my e-mail address and it should be (.net) and Steve at CMT went out of his way to call me at my home yesterday and left me a message explaining that he had tried numerous times to E-mail me with the information I had requested and that the address I had given him wouldn't work and he kept having his E-mail returned as un-deliverable and left me his phone number to call him directly. When I called him a short time ago today he couldn't have been more helpful with the information I needed plus the e-mail problem. I finally realized the mistake was mine and gave him the correct e-mail address. Actually for Steve to go that much out of his way at this time of year just to deliver some free information really impressed me as someone I really want to do Business with. I believe CMT must be in the upper echelon of of our Advertisers. I figure any one that goes to that much trouble just for giving me free information will even go farther for a paying customer. I also told him I was a member of the MRH forums and that it was there that I had first found out about CMT thanked him for all his effort and that I WILL be doing business with his company very soon. I'm not sure whom recuited CMT to become one of the MRH Sponsoring Advertisers (I thought "Les" Maybe) but whom ever it was you picked a good one.

CMT was indeed signed up by Les
CMT was signed up by Les on the floor of the Hartford National Train Show in July 2009.
You can see the interview Les did with the proprietor at the show on MRH Theater here.
Glad you had such a good experience!

Aww...schucks...actually CMT nearly broke my arm to signup at Hartford. I had previously sent him and multiple others ad kits.
Dan, I am not at all surprised at the service you got from them, Tom Tomblin is one great guy running one great Company!

CMT is quite progressive
CMT is quite progressive in their approach - don't let the utilitarian format of their web site fool you.
When you sign up (it's free), they ask you to give them a profile of your hobby interests and then they send you product announcements tailored specifically to your interests! No more broadcast spam in your mailbox - hooray.
That's why their ad shows a "superman" sort of guy coming to the rescue - no more will you miss out on a limited run model because of all the spam in your mailbox (or because you failed to notice the model was announced).
I think Tom Tomblin's got a darn clever idea with what he's doing - and I suspect he'll keep pushing the envelope on the ways he can use the internet to help out us modelers!
