In the US railroads really tried to distinguish their passenger trains, especially after the early 1950's court

If your doing a prototype model then pictures should be easy to find. If its before color pictures their are normally at least descriptions of colors. Ifbyour freelance then look at the prototypes for inspiration. As with everything model train your era will also influence your choices.
