I don't know how else to title this.  When I come to the board, I just log in to the "recent post" section.  I read through the recent posts and if I have something to contribute, I add a response.  Most of the time when I add a response, the board "behaves" normally in that when I return to the post index, it doesn't show my addition as a new post to me.  Every once in a while, it will show a new post after I come back from another thread on the thread that I just responded to.  I will check it out to find out that it is referencing my post.  I go back to the post index and it no longer shows an new post, but if I go to another thread and return to the post index, it tells me that there is a new post on the other thread.  I check it and it is my post again.

When I open the recent post section it shows new posts in blue type under the total number of posts.  I click on the new posts to go directly to the new additions.  Sometimes the board takes me directly to the new posts, sometimes it takes me to the top of the page, but it has never taken me to the beginning of the thread on the first page of multi-page threads unless I clicked on the title of the thread instead of the new post numbers.  It isn't a big issue, just a bit confusing as to what the board is doing.

It's the "Tracker"

I get the same errors, not all the time.  It's basically a nuisance to work around, unless it hangs.  If you watch carefully, you'll see that it's always "model-railroad-hobbyist,com/tracker" that's running.  Sounds like a database access that's overwhelmed.

Thanks, Don.

As you said it is just a very minor nuisance, I was just curious why it wasn't consistance.  A nuisance casued by heavy traffic makes sense.

I have had the same thing

I have had the same thing happen a dozen or more times during both heavy and light traffic, Over the years on other forums I've had the same thing happen many times usually when I'm posting answers from subject to subject and I'll notice the NEW tag on a post I was on earler and it's just my last answer.
