Different format banner ads?

Joe,

Can I get you to make up a banner ad in a more vertical format? It would work best for me if it were 185 pixels wide - height is a little less critical. I'm looking for something I can put in the sidebar of my website.

Thanks!

Looking good.  Smaller ad sizes might be useful...

Something like the Micro Bar,  Button 1 or Button 2.

Josh,  Nice link - I think

Josh,

Nice link - I think the 180x120 would be perfect for my site, although I could easily accomodate up to 180wx200h without breaking a sweat.

Okay guys, I'll work up some smaller button ads, and do some verticals as well ... thanks for your help in promoting the new mag!

newbie questions

Hello,

I just found the link to this site at trainboard and joined. My name is George and am 63 and retired as of November 2007. Have been interested in the Milwaukee Road for a long time. Looking forward to the first magazine, and it's only early July. I have a few questions-

1.Can we post pictures of real railroads or models only in the discussion area, or is there a photo area?

2.Are there only 2 forums, or will that be expanded, and is a blog part of a forum?

3.I do not know how to use all the HTML tags-is it required?

Thanks much, George.

Welcome, George!

George:

There is no photo album area, per se, yet. Gotta crawl before we can walk and all that. This site can grow and evolve to suit the subscribers' desires -- and if enough people give a thumbs up to a photo album area, then we can add one!

For now, there's only these two forums, but we're happy to add more -- again it's all up to what the subscribers want!

The rich text editor buttons should make posting on here not unlike using MS word to write things - you should not have to fiddle with HTML tags unless you want to get extra fancy with your posts. You can even post flash movies on here if you have some!

Youtube also works good, although the easiest way right now to post Youtube is to click the Source button on the top and paste the Youtube embed code in. Your video won't show in the editor, you have to click preview to see the Youtube movie.

another Trainboarder joining up

Saw the thread by riverotter at Trainboard.com and came to chock things out. Well, to make a long story short, I "marked up" as a member here as well. From what I've seen so far, I'm impressed.

It's great to be back!

I was wondering what would become of this project, especially with all your trials of the previous year and the economy going south.  Looks like you beat the odds and got it going after all!

Yep! Welcome, Ken!

And your article's going to be in the premier issue, coming out this January! Congratulations, Ken!

Anyone else willing to contribute an article to this magazine like Ken did? Content doesn't come out of wishful thinking, ya know!

Joe; As promised, my blog

Joe;

As promised, my blog post at http://modeltrains.about.comtoday is about your new magazine. Here's a permalink to this particular post:

I'm looking forward to your sample issue.  I hope you'll be giving TT scale some occasional coverage in your magazine. It would be nice to see some of the Tillig, Brawa, and Mehano importers besides Euro Train Hobbies bring in a few TT items with all the HO and N scale.

Best!

I'm not the most computer literate, but am interested in seeing this new magazine take hold.  Congrats, and best of luck!

Thanks, Randall

Randall, noticed the very kind words in your Tuesday blog post over on modeltrains.about.com - much appreciated!

As to coverage, if the article submission is good, we'll print it. If there's someone out there doing something with TT, then write an article and we'll consider publishing it.

The same goes for HO vehicle modeling. That's become almost a hobby in itself, and us HO guys can always use better looking vehicles for our layouts. No more Matchbox cars, please!

Yes, Jeff's a great guy. I keep kidding him, asking, "How's it feel, being the MRH poster child?"

Looking forward to the premier issue and am hoping you will be covering all aspects of the hobby from the rails to scenery, structures and my own particular interest, vehicles. Give us some idea as to how article submission is to happen (must we submit in the pdf format, how can photos be included etc.)

Oh, Josh sent me!

Chester ...

Chester:

The whole area of HO model vehicles is almost a sub-hobby within itself, and the micro RC developments are nothing short of astounding.

One of the hallmarks of MRH I want to pursue is innovation and pushing-the-envelope - and the trends in HO vehicles certainly qualify. So YES, if we get acceptable submissions, we'll publish them!

Check out the Contribute menu to see more details of how article submisssion works, what kinds of files we need, etc. If you have further questions after reading through the contribute section, we're happy to address them.
