Beaver

A little too political for me, but I do like the beaver hopper.

That is just too funny!

That is just too funny!  Great modeling, too!  Not sure if it will resonate with readers outside of Canada so much . . .

Thanks guys. The blue tarp is 'made' from a square of a doggie poo bag!

Great Modeling!!

The photos are great.  Excellent modeling!!  I love the beaver hopper.  I call myself an almost Canadian, I was born in Niagara Falls General Hospital within shouting distance of Canada.  Again, love the beaver car.

Great modeling, but I just don't get it.

MRH is no place for political agendas.

While the modeling is fine, MRH is no place for anyone's political agenda to be advertised or expressed, regardless of what they think.  If anyone can do a better job as Prime Minister of Canada or President of the U.S.A. then, run for political office.

Do some research on the history of war criminals (i.e. Benito Mussolini) before you make comparisons with Canadian or American politicians.  Otherwise, you might stir up a hornets nest.

G. H.

PS:  I am not supporting nor denying anyone's political beliefs. But, if I wished to express my own beliefs I would do it on a website designed just for that purpose, not here.

It's a political statement

"Great modeling, but I just don't get it." Apparently, Lee, he doesn't agree with the policies of prime minister Stephen Harper. Fine modeling done in poor taste.

Great Models

Oh no.... not Canadian politics....

Better the politician you know than the son of a politician you don't or those other guys that never say or do anything.

Excellent Modeling

I know some of the previous comments stated this wasn't the place to air your political leanings but I for one see your dioramas as more than political statements, I see them as excellent modeling. We are viewers to the final product and it really isn't up to us to judge the motivation behind it simply the final result. The statement or lack therefore of the subject matter shouldn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the piece. You are free to model anything you wish and share it with us and our only comments should be on the quality of the modeling.

Thank you for sharing your excellent dioramas and answering questions on method. This is a level of modeling we should all one day hope to achieve.

Freight cars

Amazing work Peter!

May I suggest exchanging those hopper cars with leaking TANK cars carrying crude from the tar sands south through populated built-up areas.  That pretty well sums up the Harper legacy to date.

You just did

"...if I wished to express my own beliefs I would do it on a website designed just for that purpose, not here."

That's an expression of your own political beliefs.  Just saying.

Positioning the diorama

Excellent modelling Peter.  Plus, I think you did a great job of positioning the diorama in front of the 'real' background.  Do you know what f-stop and focal length you used?

Canadian Bacon

Not that an American movie from the 90's is any indication but isn't the graffiti supposed to be in French & English?

Excellent diorama

This is an excellent diorama, and, IMVHO, worthy of posting.  I don't know Canadian politics at all, and won't comment on them.  But--it is GREAT that graffiti vandals are being arrested!  That needs to happen much more often.

Action Plan?

I like the homeless shelter with the Action Plan sign forming a wall.
