A little help putting a Genesis GP51-1 shell back on the chassis. Locos and rolling stock

I bought a GP15-1 that was DC only and installed a Tsunami GN1000 (Drop in replacement) and now can't seem to get the shell back on. (No, not speaker interference, can't even get that far). Every thing is tested and all hunky dory... except for getting the shell back on.

I saw a YouTube video about taking the shell off and that was helpful. No luck about finding something about putting it back on. I can't figure out where the problem is. This is the first time I've removed a Genesis shell.

Anybody have any suggestions (other than following my urge give it a smack with my fist)? Pointing me to a video or other website would be swell.

Question based on personal experience.

Are you trying to put the shell on backwards?

They put the "F" on the front of the frames of prototype locos.  I guess I need to do that too.
