It has been a while since my last blog post so just a quick update.  Inspite of summer related activities (yard, garden, vacation, etc.) the lower staging yard is now operable with 5 staging tracks with capacities between 12 and 21 cars plus 3 locomotives.  Troubleshooting is ongoing to ensure that trouble free operation is the norm before I cover the staging with the main level that will be home to the Flin Flon smelter.

As part of my summer activities I have been cleaning up the garage.  While doing this I came across a plastic bag which held a train show purchase from a couple of years ago that I had forgotten about.

A quick scrub in dish detergent and water to clean up the grease made for some nice looking wall decorations.  My wife won’t likely let me put them up on the living room wall, but perhaps mounted in the train room they will look quite nice.

The fire extinguisher plate could be from any CP locomotive as these were quite common.  The DRF-30g class plate is from an SD40-2 in the 5565 to 5588 series.  The DRS-17e class plate is from a Canadian Pacific GP9 in the 8801 to 8823 series prior to rebuilding into the 1500 and 1600 series switchers.  A few small items to add some ambience to the layout room.

We all collect railroad artifacts and memorabilia. It is a nice idea to display it. I am in the process of finishing space in my basement for a layout,  crew lounge and work space. I have already put up some wall decorations, but have more if I can find the space.I have more in the crew lounge, but they weren't up or are out of the photos.
