Reprogramming Function Outputs

Sorry I missed your post earlier and that no one else responded to your question.

I am assuming that you have a BLI Paragon engine with a BLI decoder and not one of the older engines with QSI decoders. I either case you can reprogram any of the available functions to any available throttle button. To reassign the functions you will need to reprogram CV 33 through CV 43 which correspond to buttons F0 through F10. The appropriate codes to enter into the CV's are listed in the Paragon 2 Steam Operator's Manual , page 17.  For example to set the Headlight to F1 program CV 34 to 1.

Getting the entries correct can still be fairly confusing, so I suggest using DecoderPro ( http://jmri.sourceforge.net/) to assist with programming even if you do not have a programming interface. You can set the outputs in the Function Output tab and read the appropriate values to program under the CV tab.
