Well I have started my back drop and painting track. What a dramatic difference in the way the track looks. Really stunned by it. And I was also stunned at how well/smooth the back drop came out. Just followed the instructions from the books.

Jim

PS. That is primer on the back drop. It is no done.

ballast

hello, I noticed in your picture where you were painting your track, I noticed that you had your ballast already laid. you can seee that you were painting the ballastalong with the track.so my question is do you laid more ballast down or do you paint the ballast? Thank you for your time on this question. Robert Moore

Ballast

I'm not sure but the gray material under the track in the yard photo looks more like a layer of adhesive caulk on top of cork sheet material than ballast. In the second photo the cork roadbed appears much more elevated under the track but still has the well defined edge.

Howdy...

The picture you speak of has no ballast. The track is attached to the cork. It is a picture of my yard.

Bob is correct.
