Well, I'm still awake, and that YouTube video is about to finish uploading...

I've attached the Covered Hopper clinic handout to this post - you'll be missing Randy's excellent commentary and the question and answer session that took place during the clinic, but I hope you'll find the slide deck informative on it's own.

The video is done uploading, but it's still processing, but it should show up below when it's done with that. Join me on a bumpy tour of the Operations Roadshow modular layout:

ORS Track Plan

Thanks for shooting and posting this, Jeff!

The track plan for the Operations Road Show layout can be found at http://www.railsonwheels.com/ors/trkplan.shtml

Jeff shot this video at the end of the first operating session at the Convention, at noon Monday.

We were a little slow out of the gate re-populating East Yard and the yard at Logansport on Monday, so they looked rather empty for much of this session. As the operating day progressed during the sessions that followed, the yards gradually acquired more cars as trains made their set-outs and the natural flow was restored.

Our first day's sessions at a Convention can be a little rough as the layout settles and we sometimes discover things we might not have set up correctly, but things overall went better than we'd expected.

Wow,

I have heard of it but I did not realize how big it is. Wish I was there to operate it. Thanks Jeff for posting the video.

On behalf of fellow Clevelanders

Sorry about the lack of signage.  A lot has changed downtown recently (new convention center, new freeway bridges, etc) and I think the city just hasn't kept up -- nothing new there and certainly we aren't the only ones with a dysfunctional city govt!

Hopefully they will fix all of this before the Republicans come to town for their national convention.

PS: For those with Verizon phones/data devices, you should have excellent service in the convention center as Verizon has a DAS system installed there (and an outdoor DAS that serves some of the busy streets).

Your on a roll!

Cleveland is doing pretty good for itself.

The convention is coming to town and so is LeBron.

Thanks for posting

Thanks for posting. It was good to see it on something other than a track plan.
