A couple more shots from the swamp west of Castlegar...

And while I was at it I tried to make a Common Loon for the shore of Kootenay Lake...he is about 1/8" long.

The swamp looks great Mark! The ducks are the kind of touch that will go unnoticed by most people, but when pointed out will usually cause their jaw to drop.  I'm still trying to fathom how you made a N scale loon though.

Admittedly, I put considerably less effort in to my loon than Mark did.  Its nesting near the river bank.  See if you can find it.

I wonder if I have a Loon in my misc collection. Admittedly I've never been to the Frigid Northlands but that's not to say coins from there haven't made there way to me. I love the "paper" money though. Especially with hockey on it!

I have

a pack of loonies in a drawer.  They can be quite useful around these parts for acquiring model railroad related stuff.

Yes, we trade loonies...

Reminds me of a story from my hobby shop days...

A "new" customer is in the store and my boss asks him, "what do you model?"

"Oh," he says, "I carve ducks."

to which my boss instantly replies, "do they object?"

I've only shot two night scenes on my past layout that I now wish I had seen your's first in order to have shot them better in regards to ambient lighting like you did. Cheers

Thanks Rick, Den [although I quite like the star effect I might check out some filters - could be fun] and Deemiorgos yours look fine to me, especially the middle one.

 Sometimes I hold a small light up close to the blue ceiling for a moonlit effect, but with the shutter open for a full 60 seconds I can't be bothered most of the time

Nabisco Plant

Working on a kit-bash project taking this kit from Watlhers and making it a 3 sided structure that with represent part of the old Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls.
