So the sun finally popped out to do a bit of priming. I also did some preliminary assembly before priming. As I looked through the instructions I saw several smaller brace pieces that had to be attached to the sides and ends, so I figured rather than fiddle with painting the little bits individually I’d glue them in place and prime the side and end panels, as you’ll see why in the following pics.

First pic shows parts laid out for sides and ends.

In this pic you’ll have to look close but they taped the panels together. I imagine because of the length of the sides it limits the length of the wood piece. The instructions tell you to remove these then to glue the panels together. But I figured the tape is keeping things aligned I’d just fold open the joint (shown in second pic) enough to apply some glue and then lay it out flat to dry and remove tape after. This worked out great.

I received feedback from AMB on the side lengths.

"Just one comment about this kit.  Some modelers mistakenly believe that the board and batten siding making up the walls in this kit are taped together because we simply used scrap.  In fact, this particular siding does not come in full 12 inch widths, so, in order to follow the prototype with its vertical battens, we are forced to temporarily join sheet stock together for the laser-cutting process and, in turn, require the modeler to glue the wall sections together. "

The next series of pics show gluing the bracing in place. The bottom brace actually ends up being part of the building foundation, and the top bits have interlocks for assembly.

This pic shows them all primed n ready for paint.

The Kit maker shred a couple of pics with me too. Hope you enjoyed this part and standby of part 2.

Indded, an enjoyment. Thanks

Indded, an enjoyment. Thanks for sharing. Nice work. Is your engine shed removable from the layout? If so, it would be nice if you could take it outdoors and take some pics of it in natural light. Cheers

RE enjoyment

Thanks, glad you like the project. The last two pics were provided by the kit maker as I'm still working my build. just figured I'd share How theirs turned out.

don't have much progress to share today. I've only put two coats of vintage white on so far, but more soon.

Looks nice

This is looking promising--looking forwards to hearing more about your build.  Wooden structures just look so good

Thanks a lot!  Looking good so far.  Did you prime both sides of the walls and if not was there a warping problem?

Re Thanks allot

Your welcome. I did prime both sides of the walls. With the bracing glued in place at the tops and bottoms warping wasn't an issue. So that was a benefit of some of the preassembly.
