Playing with trains

Tue, 2009-11-17 06:56 — Wolfgang
Finally I've found some place for my Silver Creek to test the tracks - in the entrance of my basement. I had added an extension into the floor. And - like you see - testing is fun !!
;
The engine is a leased engine from a friend. Until now I own only these two cars. Now I can start with scenery. First step, building the station.

Testing is FUN!
Wolfgang,
I agree, testing is fun! And I love your extension. The compact track arrangement still seems ot have lots of operating potnetial. I also like the WT logo hangin above the layout. Talk about well placed graphics. Keep it up - we Americans are really getting inspired by our European brother modelers.

Nice!
Nice! Like the compact Wye arrangement!

Hello Wolfgang, your Silver
Hello Wolfgang,
your Silver Creek modules looks great. Did you use the FREMO FREDI walkaround controllers?
Markus
Great Wolfgang! Now that's what I call Model Railroading!!
I love those Blackstone Engines I wish I had a movie camera so I could show you a double Header of those Mudhens going up a 4% grade. I could sit and watch those engines going up and down that grade all day. I still think you have some really fine track work and those Stub switches are Outstanding. I can't wait to see your scenery! If it's anything like the rest of your work it will look great.

kcsphil1,
the logo was a present from my son Eric many years ago.
Colin,
yes, the problem was to get the wye at the three segments of the module. Each segment trapezoidal and not longer than 1m (think of the car ! ) And the crossings and turnouts should not be above the segment border.
Markus, I use about ten FREMO FREDIs. But I own also two UT4. These are quiet handy when you use different engines. My FREDIs are dedicated to several engines.
Dan, until now I have no engine to operate. This Blackstone is "leased" from a friend. Only the two cars are mine. For this module I'm "fighting" with the rocks. I'm not satisfied with the color. And I need some rocks more. In this video you see another "leased" engine from another friend.
I had to built these bridges before laying track. Therefore there's some scenery start.
I like scratch building, especially trackwork. With my next module I think about some code 40.

Good on ya!
Good on ya! I love it Wolfgang. Nice stub turnouts. Your trawork looks great and it couldnt feature a nicer looking engine. Looks like you had a fun time making this video. Hope to see more in the future.

More work with Silver Creek
More work with scenery.
Now I've ordered stripwood for a stock yard and a bridge.

Nicely done.
Nicely done, Wolfgang. You've done an excellent job of cramming a lot of stuff into such a small space and you've done it so that it doesn't look crowded. Love the bridges.
