I am trying to attach a few photos of my train room. Right now there is no layout but there will be once the room is painted, some more outlets are put in and indoor/outdoor carpet is laid. The rom measure 12' 3" by 15' 6". Not all of it is usuable since i have to leave a path beteen two doors and one wall is made up of closets.

These pictures were taken this morning. Since then I have painted another wall.

I think is is funny how so

I think is is funny how so many train rooms look like train wrecks!  I know mine does but I am not showing anyone unless they stop by and want to see the rotary dumper work or something.

About that Rotary Dumper...

Hey Paul,

Do you have any pictures/video/instructions of your dumper. I don't mean to hijack this thread so if the amswer is affirmative, maybe we could start a new thread about your efforts.

Irv, Looks good so far. Keep

Irv,

Looks good so far. Keep up the good work. What is the name of the color and who is the maker of the blue paint you are using??? I'm curious because it looks alot like the color I would like to use.

My train room under construction

I got it from Home Depot. After looking thru the Behr Paint chips I picked 560C-3 Holiday Road. It has to be custom mixed and it costs $20.00 a gallon. I'll have enough to finish the remaining wall I haven't done yet and then some in case I make some mistakes in painting clouds and need a few touch ups. If you look at the color chips you might like 560C-2 Caribbean Mist. I orignally thought of using that but the paint color would probably be too light for the purpose. So I wnet with the next darker color.

My train room under construction

You should have seen it before I cleaned it up.

The place had only enough space to walk to the far wall with the dresser. There was enough stuff in the room to fill a moderately sized dumpster.  I don't throw most of that stuff out since some of the junk was useful for other purposes. I did have to dispose of my old layout which was under 21 years of accumulated junk. The layout was no longer usable anyway since nothing had run on it for 21 years and many things were either totally or partially destroyed. Most of the lumber is either gone or stored in my garage. I was abl;e to save a few pieces of flex track and some turnouts but my turntable was no longer worth saving or repairing. Besides it never really worked to well if i remember correctly.
