FEEDERS

Rule of thumb is feeders before and after every turnouts and every 6-8 ft on long stretch of lonely track. With Kato Unitrack  which is an awesome track for DCC I would just put feeders before and after each turnout.

Feeders

Thanks Nick. I have found out that the track has excellent conductivity.I do have one double crossover not yet installed and I will put a feeder before and after that.

Make your own feeder

Make your own feeder joiners... it's very easy, and a lot cheaper than buying them.

The entire T-Trak concept is based on Unitrack as a standard, so they've become rather expert in pushing the limits of what can be done with it... and sometimes breaking them... in track configuration. It would be worth your time to explore some of their sites. Just google "T-Trak".

And yes, that double crossover is gapped all the way across in the middle, so it needs jumpers or feeders on both sides. I'm building a quad module with an Inglenook on it now( http://ttrak.wikidot.com/quad-einewinkle-chemicals ) , and tonight I'm making up the jumper/feeder to get power to the mains. The Inglenook is electrically isolated and getting it's own feeders, too.
