Hey Folks

Here's a recent shot of a project I've been working on a bit at a time over the last 5 years, now close to being finished.  It's a kitbashed model of a Burton Stock Car Co. Horse car from the 1890's.

After recently completing assembly of the model I painted it, but the "orange" I chose turned out to be closer to a salmon color.  A few days ago I picked up a bottle of real orange paint at the craft store and then masked the trucks and letterboard of the model, then sprayed a glaze of the orange color (2 parts water, 1 part paint) over the model.  As I hoped it would, the paint shifted the color much closer to the orange I wanted and did not obscure the black lettering of the decal, already applied.

More weathering to follow.  There is currently a light application of some Umber-colored PanPastel on the car, which will be supplemented by other methods to give the car some more wear.

Welcome Craig

Welcome to the forum, Craig!  It's always great to have more ToC folks around.

This horse car looks great.  What's the deal with the roofwalk?

By the way, next time you do a glaze, try it with a clear coat like matt or gloss varnish mixed with your paint.  I think you'll like the effect.
