So in a previous comment I had said that I based my layout on a version from " Small, Smart and Practical Track Plans" by Iain Rice I came across when researching this. it was based on a three shelf layout he had done.

So Here are a couple of pics from the book that I've based mine on with some modification.

Track plans from Ian Rice are always nice. I'm using one (in a bigger plan) myself.

SIZE

So you mention that your layout is going to be based on that design. Is it going to be in HO scale ? Is it going to be the same size as the plan or are you going to make yours larger or incorporated into a larger existing layout ?

Re Size

I building to that size for now, Ho scale. I will add to it in the future but figure that'll be a bit down the road. With this stage I should see some accomplishment sooner and not feel I'm not getting anywhere.
