Though it will be some time before I have trains running on the Interim P&A, I do plan on having an "Open House" soon to invite some friends over to see the progress I have made.  I would like to put out a sign in the shape of a "Railroad Crossing X" sign, but I don't want it to say Railroad Crossing.  For one thing, I can think of a couple friends who will give me "grief" (In a fun sort of way of course) that there is no railroad crossing where the signs are.  And the owner of the property won't allow me to lay track in the yard so there would be a railroad crossing!

So I'm looking for ideas on what to place on the "X" in terms of words.  I was thinking of maybe "Model Railroad" on the on bar of the X with "Layout" on the other bar.  But maybe there is an even better idea out there.  I would like whatever other ideas are presented that they are a simple construction, in other words, no super details.  Keeping it to a Railroad Crossing X would be my preference, but perhaps different wording on it.

Thanks!

Yellow RR sign

For local open houses, our group uses the circular yellow crossing signs hat just have a large "X" with "RR" on either side.

Well, if you freelance your RR...

If you freelance your railroad, you could do what I did for an Open House. I used permanent art markers and created a "Corporate Flag".

I just zip-tied the pole to the railing outside the apartment. This was... oh, about 15 years ago now.
