Running a bit behind schedule

"Is this any way to run a railroad?" Well, was to arrive in Modena, UT, about 4 pm Pacific time, but is now moving near Acoma, NV, at 6:30 pm Pacific time (7:30 pm MT). Delay is about 2.5 hours and counting - it will take a little more delay to roll into Modena.

I like the short video from ABCLA, thanks for posting the link, Don.

5 years! I don't have 5 years!

Is it really going to require 5 years to restore? Or does that include a significant fudge factor?

I think the aim is

to have it ready for 2019 - 1869 - 1969 (69XX Centennials, remember?) - 2019 = Century & a bit....

Some additional details

One of the interesting aspects of this Big Boy restoration is that the number 4014 was also assigned to a currently operating diesel in the UP roster. Since only the diesel was included in the operating equipment roster, there was no conflict - X4014, the Big Boy, was classified as retired.

In the movement from Colton yard to Cheyenne steam shops, the lead engine is now the #4014 diesel and the #4884 diesel that was previously the lead is now the second operating unit, right behind the Big Boy.
