I recently added 28 feet of soffit to my N Scale Mooers Junction Railroad. I constructed one 13 1/2 foot section ( weighing 22 lbs) with a truss assembly that lets me rest on my backdrop on one end and molding on the other. The other 15 foot section uses no framing and weighs less than 10 lbs. This also is constructed without attaching to the apartment walls.

My wife likes displaying the layout in the living / dining area of our apartment. I like the finished look and it keeps the lighting out of my eyes. The translucent properties of the Gatorfoam highlights some sketches I placed on part of the soffit. I hope some day to have straight line track plans and occupancy / dispatcher lights up top on the soffit.

Thanks for viewing. I hope to do a better video and or article showing this soffit as well a a soffit I had in the old place, which did hang from the ceiling and at 24 feet long it was only 10 lbs of Gatorfoam.
