Elwood and Maybelle's new home next to the quarry. He's "a settin' on the porch" while she's hanging out the wash. They're waiting for the bridge across the river to be built and the tracks to be laid to the West.

The stone quarry is a might busy these days with all that red scenic rock going to those fancy landscape companies throughout the country.

Looks like the milk empties are being off=loaded so the express reefer can take on fresh cans for the big city. Valley Lumber just got a delivery themselves.

The Ivanhoe Yard Crew is easing down the coal company spur to deliver two loaded hoppers. They're using an empty boxcar as an idler car to bridge the trestle track as engines are weight restricted there.

The box factory is busy today and the guys are waiting to enjoy lunch at the White Castle restaurant across the street.

The V Tavern is a right friendly place and has rooms to rent upstairs for crew overnighting at ivanhoe Road.

A local is just passing the EU Tower on its way West. Road diesels haven't replaced steam yet on the Greater Nickel Plate, but are making inroads against the older 2-8-0's. It will be some time before they replace the Berkshires hauling tonnage on CB-12, the Saucer, and coal drags out of the South.

Number 38 eases down the Ivanhoe yard lead past Brach Chocolates. In the foreground are the electrical switch yard for Midland Electric and the programming track for the Digitrak system used on the Greater Nickel Plate.
