GR 45T

Been working on locomotives to clean up some of my backlog detailing projects rather than starting on the layout reconfiguration. Here's a shot of my most recent project, a Bachmann Spectrum 45T, GR 45 pulling a reefer from Mike's Meat and Produce.

Pete...

...I airbrushed Tamiya XF-59 dessert yellow as a base coat. Weathered with artist oil paints, raw sienna and burnt sienna, on their own and mixed together to get some nuances. And lastly a subtle dry brush was done with Titanium white to bring some high lights. Of course with the needed drying time between the different stages.

Alan,

depending if it is recycled, Euro-, Chep- and, or other types of pallets, some have them, some don't. But if you ever loaded a semi trailer with rounded corner pallets, you wished they all had them,

New Team Track with loading ramp scene

Got some work done on my last areas to add scenery.  Still need to add weeds and dirty up the place.  Looks like a state park!800x598).jpg Larger look at the area.  Gotta get a backdrop in also!800x598).jpg

They come up nice...

Dear Travis,

Having gotten one of their S-Helper SW9> On30 body kits almost done,
(just needs final details, decal/numbers, and handrails),

I can tell you that they are well-constructed, the instructions are written well,
and the results (pending appropriate care in assembly by the modeller) turn out to be very nice...

Take your time to assemble it right, and you'll have a model you'll be proud of...

Nice Stuff!

Really nice work this week, guys.

Jappe- those pallets look great. I was going to ask you how you did them but somebody beat me to it. Thanks, Pete.

Shannon- great looking scene! The loading dock looks spectacular- beautiful job on the weathering.

Drew- nice looking layout! I'd love to see some more pictures. I good friend of my has done the Penny in 3-rail and it's absolutely beautiful. Here's a link to his website:  http://www.pennwestrr.com/.

1:24 Streetcars

My good friend, Ray Clifford asked me to post this photo of his work. He models streetcars in 1:24 scale. I believe that the streetcar is a modified Bachmann offering and the vehicles are from various manufacturers, but everything else in this scene is scratch built, including the figures!

This is a pic of Ray's portable layout that he hauls around to local train shows. The layout is 5' x 20' and uses a welded tubular steel frame to keep the sections light yet strong. It depicts a typical street scene in the 30's. While it is not modeled after any particular town, some of the buildings are based on some local structures.

Night Shots

Still trying to get some good night shots but I'm not very satisfied,  I need more experience. BTW the Reefer is from my Friend Gary Christensen, the handpainted Graffiti is out of this world.
