Here are a few shots of my latest freight car modeling projects. Last month I made an impulse purchase of an Exact Rail 50 foot Gunderson DD box car. It was lettered for GM&O. I discovered however that according to The GM&O historical society the GM&O never had these center dd cars. I soon found a great candidate to repaint the car. It was BN 318517 in the BN freight car Morning Sun color guide. The BN acquired these cars in 1970 and were the first rolling stock to be painted in the new BN scheme and were from the same order as the SP&S 50 ft cars. This was interesting to me because just finished a model of one of these neat pea green cars last summer. The SP&S car involved a bit more kit bashing. I carved out the stock doors and kit bashed some Intermountain doors from my scrap box. The decal is a Champ set.
