A friend of mine found some rolling stock in the trash { He works for a hauler } one is a crane made by Hornby Dublo / Meccano Ltd , with three flatcars all made of metal . There is also what looks like a rocket launcher all metal made by Tri-ang / made in England . I'm hopping my photos will post with this  , having trouble posting photos . I watched the 2 min. video and still haveing trouble . Any info is appreciated .  Jim Ross .

One short idler car goes on either side of the crane, then the boom rests on the longer flat.

Seems to me you have a very valuable Ebay item there, if you can find the right market to offer it on...

If you are after information on these items..

then you are probably better to post on one of the UK forums such as http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/

It appears that the three flat cars have been modified to take horn/hook couplers - those couplers would not normally be found on Hornby Dublo/Triang rolling stock.

Hornby crane

I have had one of these cranes since I was 8 years old and I am now 58. Benny is correct on the arrangement.

Also like mine there are 4 feet missing which clip on the short wagons when running. At site they pug into the crane to stabilize it, with little screws to level it. The coupling is correct for Hornby Dublo, originally they were made of metal.

Hornby and Triang were separate companies, Hornby was considered to be the more for the modeler and Triang more the play market hence the rocket car with their  own tension lock couplers.

Traing took over Hornby in the end.

I do not know how much it would be worth, I do not intend to get rid of mine, as it is a memory from my childhood.

Battle Space series

The rocket launcher is the first in Triang's "Battle Space" series launched (excuse the pun)  I think, around 1957,

As a kid I had this, plus the Helicopter car, Exploding car and 4 rocket launcher.

Great fun, but nothing to do with reality.

Crane Video

Here's basically what it was modeled after. Found this before you posted this while looking for info on steam cranes.
