McRuss

Hello,

maybe someone out there could help me. I'm looking for a trackplan made from Ian Rice. It was printed I think in one of Model Railroaders supplements. It was 4x8 feet trackplan, which he converted to a shelf layout desing. If I'm right there was a small wharf and a cannery.

Thank you for your help.

Sounds like the Lilliput Logger

A 4x8 portable logging line in HO.

Model Railroader - August 1998.

It has a wharf and a packing plant.

4X8 with Wings - Iain Rice

Markus,

I believe the plan you are referring to is the Rockridge, Maine  - Track plan which was published in the Model Railroader Planning 2011 - Special Issue. The 4x8 with wings could be converted to 2 x 2x8 with an additional section for staging.

Hope this helps

More of a J shape

The "unwound" version is a "J" shape walk-in design with options for extending bench work for staging purposes.

Iain worked in at least 6 major industries (the aforementioned cannery, a joinery works, a fuel dealership and several warehouses and freighting companies.

It's on pages 36-39 issue 38 of Model Railroader Planning 2011 - Special Issue
