One think I liked about other video Layout Tours from other producers is seeing a track plan and following a "dot" along the track to represent where on the trackplan the viewer is looking at as the tour proceeds along the layout.  Any chance of adding this type of feature into future TMTV episodes?

How about a link to a jpeg image so it will be

How about a link to a jpeg image so you can refer to it anytime while watching the video?

Here's Tom Patterson's CWE trackplan on his blog page:

Works for me

Video more understandable with link to track plan.  Never thought of looking through the blog.

Thanks!

I vote for a dot or camera icon on the static layout plan view

I especially like videos where the camera cuts to a layout plan view with the camera pointing in the direction that the real camera will be and then cuts back to video of the actual layout.  Using this method I always know where "I" am when looking at the layout.  A link to a static view of the layout plan is OK, but it doesn't show me where I / we are on the tour of the layout.

Great idea

I also like this format, Rick.

In the case of Tom's layout I took a slightly different approach as he literally toured us up and down the aisles and you can actually see where many elements are in relation to each other.  On features where we focus more on the trains and scenery, and less so on the actual room, there will certainly be more trackplan views.

Great first layout video

I really enjoyed the editing, Barry, it made for very smooth transitions between Tom's dialogue. Who did the voice over? Very PBS sounding!

Voiceover

Our voiceover artist is Gerry Fraiberg, a veteran of radio and video announcing.  He has a friendly style, and I'm honored to have him as the Voice of TrainMasters.
