My current layout was begun in 1996 when we moved to South-Central PA. I bought a ranch house with a decent sized basement which has yielded a 29’ X 45’ S scale layout. I’ve made several improvements over the years. The track plan as it existed in 1999 is at:
http://www.trains.com/mrr/default.aspx?c=a&id=1343. There have been several changes since then, but the basic footprint is the same.

Currently, I’m working on an extension to the East Broad Top section, which is in Sn3. I’m only a half hour from the EBT and have been interested in the railroad for some time now and wanted to do more modeling of it. I have an HO Heljan turntable that was used for the S standard gauge and was OK for diesels, but not so good for steam. It was the natural thing to convert the roundhouse and turntable to Sn3 for the EBT. I’ll be able to build lots of new structures for the EBT as well. I just completed the coal tipple used at Orbisonia.

The background scenery was temporary. I replaced several backdrop panels that had been water damaged. I then took two of them and changed  them by painting over some structures in order to show basic PA terrain. I then had my wife hold them in place while I took the photos. I plan to use them whenever I want a shot in a spot where there are no backdrops. They are painted in acrylics on standard 18" X 24" canvas panels.

DON'T underline URL's it makes them useless and a link!!!  I see most URL are under lined but yours all are just part of the back Ground and they don't link to anything very strange unless they were disabled some how?????

It looks like...

The url's may have been copy/pasted into the message so while they look like urls they are not hyperlinked.  Select the text, click the link button and paste the url into the url field.

That could be the issue here.  Hope it helps.

Oversite is our biggest

Oversite is our biggest problem after the age of 10. From that time on we think we know everything and over look the easy everyday stuff.

The new url's work great  so thank you for the reseting of them.

EBT Equip From HO

Roy- i'm new to this site so bear with me.In the early eightys I produced several articles on converting/scratchbashing EBT equipment in Sn3 from HO Stock, all articles were in the fledgling S Gaugian, alas several moves in the Navy lost my copies.Hopefully someone may have those issues laying around, look for the author Lee Schamberger,Photos by Tom May.Hope this gives you a starting point to find them.Sincerely Lee Schamberger at dhrrhobo@yahoo.com.PS I fell from grace and am now modeling the Delaware & Hudson in HO.We as railroaders are always reinventing ourselves!!!_Lee

HO to Sn3

Lee,

Did you convert the Sn3 back to HO? < G>

Actually, I'll try to find those articles although I'm missing a lot of S gaugians. At the time your articles appeared, there weren't many Sn3 products for the EBT available if at all. BTS has since then provided both 2 and 3 bay hoppers as well as the tank car and flat car. I have some of them, but being cheap, I still kitbash HO cars as well. In one case I put an HO tank car on a BTS flat and modified it a bit. I also bought a bunch of MDC triple hoppers to bash into EBT. They have an extra rib, but since "good enough" is OK with me, I go with the huge cost saving.

Anyway, I'd appreciate finding your articles and putting them to possible use.

Thanks,

Roy
