It's not always easy to find an advertiser in the MRH mag. I wanted to check out Monster Models and, although I could have accessed their website via my favourites, I know it benefits MRH if I go through the magazine. I went to the trouble of opening up Acrobat and the mag, then checked the Index page but they were not listed, so I clicked on Hobby Marketplace but again drew a blank. I was pretty sure I had seen their ad somewhere in the mag, but it wasn't till a couple of days later I found it buried with about 50 others on the page before the Contents page, which I think would receive little traffic after the initial flick through the issue. Why can't all advertisers be listed in the Index?

FYI

If you just come to the website, click Advertisers at the top, then MRH sponsors, it takes you to this page:  http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/our_sponsors

Clicking on these links is the same as clicking in the magazine.  Furthermore, if you want to simplify things with your favourites and still benefit MRH, right-click on the links and copy the link address and put that into your favourites.  This way, even when you click from your favourites, you'll still provide the click-through for MRH.

Advertisers in the index

Advertisers who advertise in the current issue are in the index. If they are a sponsor but don't have an ad that issue, then you go to the sponsors spread, which is just past the title page.

Monster Model Works is taking the summer off and not advertising - and you've just proven the point that it potentially will hurt their business to have done that. Not everyone will try as hard as you to find them through MRH resources.

Some sponsors don't advertise every month, so they won't be in the ad index for that issue - but they will always be on the sponsors page in the magazine and on the website.

Slightly off topic, but related.

Joe,

I just looked at the listing of Hobby Shops in California on the MRH site.  My favorite is Railmaster Hobbies.  He is not listed in the Hobby shop listing because he is a sponsor of the Magazine, but I think he should get a listing in the California Hobby Shop listing as well.
